ES Tech Diaries – Week #20
— Design Thinking – Cheers for your participation in the design thinking conversations at the last ES Faculty meeting. The presentation and resources are linked here.
— Design Thinking tools for students – Here are some design thinking tools (Art, game-design, coding, DIY and more) that come recommended from Common Sense Media’s Graphite.
— Google Cardboard – Another innovative tool – It’s a simple viewer for VR experiences. We have some in the ES Tech office. It takes not more than 5 min for a brief intro. Please encourage your students to stop by. These are also available for check out.
— A reminder — AES Shared Network Drive Sunsetting – The shared AES network drive will be turned off this by March 11, 2016. The plan is to move towards full integration with Google Drive for file storage, sharing and collaboration. We can help and provide support to migrate files/ folders from Shared Drive to an organized Google Drive folder.
— — Technology integration – ES is buzzing with tons of technology integration action. It’s an amazing array of activities that are centered around subject specific content with a perfect blend of tech tools to enhance the student learning.
Here’s what’s happening –
— G5 students are using Adobe Voice to produce video reflections about the making of their first infographics. This one does a great job of explaining the skills they have been practicing, which focus on Graphic Design and Visual Literacy.
— Grade 1 is using Book Creator app to capture ideas for Story Planning.
— KG is using the Aging Booth app for the 100th day of activities.
— Grade 3 is using the Design Thinking model to guide the build-a-stylus activity. They are using the Explain Everything app to capture and reflect about the process.
— KG is blogging about their favorite portfolio pieces.
If you would like to share anything that’s going on in your classroom, please let us know.
